DEME’s ambitious, multi-year fleet investment programme sets us apart from other industry players. Our modern and versatile fleet has again been extended with the arrival of some truly pioneering vessels recently, and today we are the proud owner of more than 100 specialist vessels.
We strive to make continuous improvements in terms of productivity and environmental performance so we can serve our customers more efficiently. Our aim is to future proof our fleet so we can play a key role in addressing global challenges such as the rising sea level, an increasing population, the reduction of CO2 emissions, the scarcity of mineral resources and polluted rivers and soil.
DEME is already the largest operator of green vessels in the sector. We want to minimise our own carbon footprint and to exceed current environmental regulations so we are always a step ahead. In light of this, our new vessels are equipped with innovative dual fuel engines, which are capable of running on LNG and diesel fuel.
Recent additions include the DP3 vessel ‘Living Stone’, the most advanced multipurpose and cable installation vessel in the world. Equipped with a unique, dual lane, cable installation system, ‘Living Stone’ has already proved that she can install subsea cables faster and more efficiently than any other cable installation vessel. Our self-propelled, DP2 jack-up vessel ‘Apollo’ entered the fleet in spectacular style when she carried out a challenging platform decommissioning project in the North Sea.
New dredging vessels include ‘Spartacus’, the most powerful cutter suction dredger in the world and the state-of-the-art trailing suction hopper dredger ‘Bonny River’. Another attention-grabbing vessel due to join our fleet is the next generation, DP3 offshore installation vessel ‘Orion’. These are just a few examples of DEME’s latest pioneering vessels that will be tackling the global challenges of today and in the future.
