As Expert Geotechnical Engineer, you are an internal consultant to the (geotechnical) engineering team. You will be part of an international team of 10 engineers and support both tenders and projects within our Offshore Activity Line.
Qualitative execution of reclamation areas, ground improvement works, foundation constructions and ground retaining structures such as quay walls is key and needs to be guaranteed by first class design, execution planning, follow-up and checking/witnessing and, finally, demonstrated by quality control testing and reporting to the employer.
The geotechnical engineer assists the tender team to recognize and solve all geotechnical related issues, both in final stage of the project as in execution stage. This will require full understanding of the requirements, translation into geotechnical requirements and geotechnical designs.
In execution stage, geotechnical engineers assist the project team to solve all specific geotechnical issues. This can be as on-site geotechnical engineer or from the DEME headoffice in Zwijndrecht.
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will focus on a wide variety of challenges supporting our cable installation business unit. Although parts of these challenge encompass geotechnical analyses, the scope extends beyond the geotechnical world towards geographical information systems, multi-disciplinary cable route engineering and cable protection studies.
The engineering department in Breda consists of approximately 25 employees. You will work in a close‑knit, international team of 6 Hydraulic and Geotechnical engineers. As a geotechnical engineer you will support our commercial and project teams by providing, amongst other things, expert advice on cable protection strategies and cable route design.

As a Methods & Mission Equipment Engineer at DEME Offshore, you are involved with the engineering of new transport and installation methods and the development of corresponding mission equipment. You with will provide engineering support during project execution and follow-up on performance and any modifications or improvements to existing equipment.
The Methods Engineering & Equipment and Technology Development group develops transport and installation methods for the different DEME Offshore activities safeguarding technical feasibility, operational efficiency and workability. Additionally, the team develops the required equipment for the projects focused on safe and efficient operations, ensuring high workability and accelerating the pace of innovation. These Developments are coordinated in close cooperation with the commercial and operational departments to ensure solutions are fit for purpose.
This position is based at our Headquarters in Zwijndrecht, Belgium, and can make use of our network of regional offices and satellite offices and working from home regimes.
As a Mobilization Team Leader, you will be responsible to coordinate mobilization projects for our Offshore Activity Line fleet at the Deme Offshore Base in Vlissingen. You will coordinate the projects taking care schedule, budget and QHSE aspects, among others.
Within this role, you will work on mobilization, commission, maintenance and repair of technical assets, analyses and improve equipment’s performance, in line with internal business demands and QSHE-S guidelines, in order to contribute to a high-quality, reliable and safe equipment against optimal costs and to optimally enable Operations to execute client projects.
