Within our Fleet Organisation, which ensures all maintenance and technical management of our fleet of dredging and offshore vessels, you work in the team that is responsible for managing all vessel certificates. These are all certificates required according to the International Maritime Organisation’s standards (such as classification , Flag State, …).
You provide support to our Technical Superintendents and Vessel Managers for all certificate related matters, answer their questions, assist them in applying for and obtaining the necessary documents and assist in the implementation of new regulations, … . Outside DEME, your main contacts are government agencies and classification societies.
DEME’s infra activity line is involved in marine infrastructure and civil works that complement and reinforce the company’s dredging activities. These include the design and construction of hydraulic works such as jetties, port terminals, locks and weirs; infrastructural works such as bored, immersed and cut and cover tunnels, foundation and marine works for bridges or other constructions in a marine or fluvial environment, as well as civil works for harbor construction, dams and sea defenses, canal construction, revetment, quay wall construction and shore protection.
As a Design Engineer for the infra activity line you will focus on these complex civil and maritime works. We provide our client's advices and services at all stages of their projects, from early in the design phase till the end of the construction phase. Because of the wide variety of specializations, we are looking for motivated candidates to reinforce our team.

Being part of the design and engineering department, the geotechnical engineer assists the tender and project teams to recognize and mitigate geotechnical related constraints, from tender until execution stage.
This requires full understanding of employer’s requirements and project execution constraints. Most projects require evaluation of the soil information, leg penetration analysis, drivability analysis and related boundary conditions. In case of design and build contracts, the review of the design basis will be required.

DEME Offshore Geotechnical engineers will assist the tender and project team mainly from the DEME head office in Zwijndrecht. Sporadic travel abroad might be required for meetings with designers or clients or for assistance on board of the vessels.
Within the geotechnical department we strive to provide the best service to the tender department in limited time; we optimize by automating (Python) and do advanced FE studies if of added value.
As a Mission Equipment Expert, you will be responsible for dedicated technical follow-up of certain types of Mission Equipment such as drill rigs, Monopile grippers, Cable Installation System, trencher, Modiga and deck cranes (among others). You will work for our mobilization projects for our Offshore Activity Line fleet at the Deme Offshore Base in Vlissingen.
Within this role, you will work on mobilization, commissioning, maintenance and repair of technical assets, analyses and improve equipment’s performance, in line with internal business demands and QSHE-S guidelines, in order to contribute to a high-quality, reliable and safe equipment against optimal costs and to optimally enable Operations to execute client projects. As a project manager for our new build department, you will share responsibility and provide leadership, on a day to day basis, for the engineering and/or construction and commissioning of new vessels. You will be involved in all the phases of the project and will be working both from the office in Antwerp and from various shipyards. You will be part of a team that is known to have developed and built state of the art, pioneering vessels in its industry!
As a project engineer in the fleet engineering department, you are responsible for the follow up of engineering projects related to our fleet. You will work on highly innovative projects for our modern and versatile fleet. The main working location will be our headquarters in Antwerp, but you will also occasionally travel to the vessels.
