With rising sea levels, more intense storms, and accelerated coastal erosion, it's clear that traditional coastal protection methods are not enough. DuneFront focuses on a dune-dike solution, a hybrid system that combines the natural buffering power of sand dunes with the strength of engineered dikes.
By studying 12 existing dune-dike systems across Europe, DuneFront will provide valuable insights that will help create sustainable, nature-based coastal protection for the future. The project consortium consists of 18 partners with expertise in various fields, including DEME.
