As a Cable Lay Supervisor, you will work on board of one of our offshore vessels and be responsible for the loading, transporting and installation of subsea cables. You will lead a team on board and will coordinate all necessary works and stakeholders to make sure cable is laid in the most safe and optimal way. Together, we work on DEME’s vision of creating a sustainable future.
DEME’s infra activity line is involved in marine infrastructure and civil works that complement and reinforce the company’s dredging activities. These include the design and construction of hydraulic works such as jetties, port terminals, locks and weirs; infrastructural works such as bored, immersed and cut and cover tunnels, foundation and marine works for bridges or other constructions in a marine or fluvial environment, as well as civil works for harbor construction, dams and sea defenses, canal construction, revetment, quay wall construction and shore protection.
As a Design Engineer for the infra activity line you will focus on these complex civil and maritime works. We provide our client's advices and services at all stages of their projects, from early in the design phase till the end of the construction phase. As an Equipment Engineer, you assist internal departments at DEME Offshore with engineering support for project execution, new equipment development and improvements on existing equipment. Being part of the design and engineering department, the geotechnical engineer assists the tender and project teams to recognize and mitigate geotechnical related constraints, from tender until execution stage.
This requires full understanding of employer’s requirements and project execution constraints. Most projects require evaluation of the soil information, leg penetration analysis, drivability analysis and related boundary conditions. In case of design and build contracts, the review of the design basis will be required.

DEME Offshore Geotechnical engineers will assist the tender and project team mainly from the DEME head office in Zwijndrecht. Sporadic travel abroad might be required for meetings with designers or clients or for assistance on board of the vessels.
Within the geotechnical department we strive to provide the best service to the tender department in limited time; we optimize by automating (Python) and do advanced FE studies if of added value.
As GIS Engineer, you will be part of the multipurpose GIS department with specialization in the geophysical, geotechnical and environmental fields in which G-Tec is active.
